•Post exile: 1 author (not 2 or 3) with 1 message: Salvation in Christ (The Messiah)
•Isa 1-39 focus on judgement. Isa 40-66 focus on salvation (prophecy). We are guilty, Christ saves.
•Isa 55 is in a long line of explanation of the promise of Christ (Messiah/The Lord). Read Isa 54 which both establishes future promise & clarifies blessing now {vv14-17}.
•Remember, chapters & verses were added for memorization. So Isa 55, would be a continuation of the line of thought from Isa 40. Therefore 55 is continuation from thoughts of 54.
