God Knows

Yesterday I shared a post of some reflections from Jeremiah 29:4-9. During exile, God still has a plan for His people to Build - Plant - Live - And, Seek Him. After God has Jeremiah to write and share that word of encouragement, He then writes something that has always been a core verse of LongView Bible Church. While there are several verses that convey the understanding that God has a plan for our future, Jeremiah 29:11 is the one we share most frequently. So, in this time of “unease” let God’s Word remind us that with God there IS a future hope:

10 “For thus says the Lord: When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will visit you, and I will fulfill to you my promise and bring you back to this place. 11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. 13 You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you, declares the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile. Jeremiah 29:10-14

God Knows:

• In our harsh reality, God knows the plans - we don’t.

• God’s point is our well-being, not our setback.

• God’s plans have a purpose resulting in a future and a hope!

• Our responsibility is to call on the Lord, pray to Him, He is listening.

• Our responsibility is to continue to seek the Lord. He will take care of the restoring and setting things straight.

In the middle of the crisis, life can feel overwhelming. Right now there is so much uncertainty about - everything. So, let’s refocus our prayers on God’s plan in our current reality and where God is taking us.

Lord, we thank you that we belong to you! You, God, have always had a plan for our lives. You alone, have carried us through so many challenges of life and we have full confidence in you. You know what COVID-19 is really all about. You know what plans you have for each of us. You know our future and in you alone, give us strength to continually find our HOPE. God you know...

LongView, I pray this blog is encouraging to you today. Please, pass it along to friends and family members today.
